Cooking Club Disappointment

Okay, I feel like a complete idiot, but I really don't know what I did wrong.

The MOMS club that I joined has a cooking club and they were supposed to be meeting this morning at 10:00 at one of the members' homes. The theme was "breakfast foods," so I made my favorite -- sticky cake -- yum yum. I have to say, it turned out just perfect and I had taken it out of the oven right before I left so that it would still be warm when I arrived. I got there at about 10:05, rang the doorbell, waited ... knocked on the door, waited ... nobody ever answered. Of course, I'm thinking I must have made a mistake -- written the date and time down wrong or got the wrong address. There was only one car in the driveway -- so it didn't look like a get-together was happening or anything. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I got back in my car and drove home. Immediately I checked my email. I had two emails with the date, time, address, and directions to the house, along with a section in the MOMS Club newsletter about it. I had everything correct. So I thought -- why not just drive back and make sure I had the right house. I did have the correct house, and there were still no cars in the driveway, so I turned around and came home again.

I feel like a total loser -- and I know I shouldn't. I'm not quite sure what happened. I emailed the girl in charge and asked if it had been cancelled, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. I should have been more persistent with the knocking and doorbell ringing. But really, I didn't want to knock the door down and then find out it wasn't even the right house or something. Hmmm ... WIERD.
