And even better ... Grammy's been here, too, visiting for the whole week! I'm loving the help she gives me each day, and the extra hour of sleep I get each morning since she's been waking up with Tanner. But even more, I love having her company all day! It's all been pretty fantastic and we're going to miss her so much when she goes home at the end of the week! Before that happens, though, Jon and I are going to squeeze in a date-night. Can't wait!
Just a quick update while I wait for the little man to wake up and nurse before I retire for the night (or the next 3 hours at least).
Jon took Tanner on a train ride last weekend. Just a quick one from our train station to the next town over, where Landon and I met them for lunch. Ever since then, all I've heard is "Daddy, choo-choo!" He love love LOVED it. His newest work is "sit." He likes to point to the second chair at his little table, or the place next to him on the couch, and command me to "sit" instead of clean or continue with whatever else I'm doing. I think it's God's little way of reminding me to put aside whatever else I'm doing and just enjoy my boys.

Landon had his first "real" bath on Tuesday night. He did awesome. Tanner, on the other hand, had a conniption when he saw Landon's baby bath tub in HIS bath tub! I just had to laugh as I watched the video afterwards. I keep reminding myself ... he's not a brat, he's two.
Landon is literally growing from one feeding to the next. I cannot believe how fast he's filling out! He's totally getting chubby! The other day he rolled over from tummy to back several times ... my mom and I couldn't believe it! He's just such a little LOVE. We keep commenting to each other about what a good baby he is. But really, I think he just seems so good because Tanner is so bad lately! (Okay, he's not bad, he's two, remember??) :)

I hear you about Tanner. Clayton now has several temper tantrums EVERY day. He throws himself on the floor screaming and crying in an oscar-worthy performance. A neighbor (who only has a one-year-old and hasn't reached this stage yet) witnessed one and was really alarmed thinking he ws serioucly injured. "Did he get hurt? Is he OK?" To which I could only reply, "Oh, he's fine. He just doesn't want to go inside." Yes - when he doesn't get his way, he acts as if you are literally sawing off his leg. Hang in there, Rachel! And yes - it is a good reminder. He's not a brat (hopefully), he's just TWO (or almost.)
I love the, "He's not a brat, he's two..." -- I still think I will use that saying through age 3, unfortunately!!
I'm glad your Mom is there to help this week. Your boys are so cute, even if T is acting like a typical 2 year old. You're an awesome Mom! And Jon is an awesome Dad too. I bet he was as excited as T about the train ride together.
Gosh, I still feel like I'm still saying your line "He's not a brat, he's just four..." Yikes! I have to remind myself often that every day brings us closer to more independence and greater awareness and reasoning. It just seems like it's taking a long time to get there! ;) Isn't it wonderful, though, that God has given you a new little bean to love during the rough patches?! I am so thankful that my guys seems to alternate during their bratty phases. They never seem to have them simultaneously, thank God!! :) xoxo
