Just in case carrying Tanner in my womb for 9 months didn't truly make me a mother.
In case giving birth didn't either.
Or getting up every 2-3 hours at night during his first 6 months of life.
Just in case making measuring cups and tupperware look like fun things to play with doesn't count as a qualification for motherhood.
Or spending an entire day speaking baby talk. (actually, we think Tanner might be advanced -- speaking to us in Arabic or Chinese, which we just can't understand)
Just in case singing lullabies until my wee one falls asleep doesn't make me a mom.
Or worrying every second about whether or not I'm doing the right thing for my child.
In case none of that counts ...
I think I sealed the deal tonight. I actually fished poop out of the bathtub. It's official ... I'm a mom.

Rachel,
can remember those days...oh wait, Rylin just did that last week! Trust me, you'll do it again:) I love your post though, what a great mom you are:)
Oh Rachel! You've definitely solidified it... (I hate that I had to use "solid" in that last sentence--yuck! :) Just wait until you have two boys together in the tub and have to wash the poop off of both of them! Disgusting!!
Tanner is looking so mature these days. What an adorable little guy! There will be plenty of hearts breaking in a few years over that one! Blessings to you all and thanks for sharing in our excitement today!
Thanks for making me laugh! Thanks also for you continued support. You're such a great friend!
Kennedy did it once. At my parents house when my mom was giving her a bath. I didn't have to go fishing! I'm sure my time will come. You are a great mommy!
Brady has never done that for me - thank goodness! Although, Mike 7 I already have a crisis plan in case it should ;)
Monica told me today that Kelly did that once when she was about 9 months old, and started eating it before Monica could get it taken care of! So disgusting!!!
Miss you!
Carolyn
Wow, that is definitely a milestone in Mommydom! You know, I think there is some story about me pooping in the bathtub when I was little, and my brother who is almost 4 years older than me and was in the tub too didn't really care that much and still stayed in there with me: that's a real brother!
