Mocktails, Anyone?

While I'm not a heavy drinker by any means, I DO enjoy the occasional glass of wine or fruity cocktail when I'm not pregnant.

Over the course of the past few months, we've had several social outings, where I wished I had something a little more special than a diet coke in my hands!! (and Shirley Temples DO get a little old!) This week as we prepare for our little getaway, I am hoping to have a few ideas for some fun virgin drinks to sip on while we're out. Any ideas???

For those of you in the same situation, I do have some fun ideas for "special" drinks at home. Keep in mind that you MUST use a special glass for these -- go ahead and break out your wedding crystal or a fun martini glass! I adore the IZZE sparkling juice drinks -- grapefruit is my fave! They are a bit expensive, but they are meant to be a TREAT -- not for everyday consumption! I also like the naturally flavored sparkling water (no sodium, sugar, or caffeine). I get mine at Target -- Cherry or Mixed Berry is the best. If you want to add a special touch, you can even float a few berries on the top. Yum!

What is your favorite Mocktail? Please share!

R- you should try some limade with sprite mixed in. It will taste just like a margarita. Also I love sparkling grape or apple juice. We used to drink it as kids instead of champagne.

My mom used to buy the Welch's sparking grape juice during the holidays and I always loved it. It has just enough zing to remind you of wine.

What about Mineral Water and fruit juice . . . gives you a bubbly drink . . . I love Lime Juice, San Pellegrino (mineral water), and a couple raspberries . . . you could even throw in then blender with some ice for the frozen kind?

I always got so tired of drinking water while pregnant. I've come across the sparkling water, but I also found a water called Metromint -- if you like the taste of fresh mint, it's really good. They have chocolatemint, cherrymint, lemonmint, orangemint, peppermint, spearmint, etc. -- it's pure water, mint, and the essence of whatever fruit is the combo, so it's great for pregnancy. It's sort of weird when you taste it, but surprisingly good. If you go to Metromint.com you can find out where to buy it, or order it online. Whole Foods carries it, but I'm not sure where else you can get it. It's very refreshing!
